Real Bride: Sarah

Bride: Sarah  |   Groom: Zack

How did you meet your husband?

Zack and I met in high school and started dating in year 8.. the rest is history.

How did your partner propose to you?

Zack proposed to me just after we moved into our first home. He didn’t even have the ring for 24 hours because he couldn’t wait so he proposed whilst watching the footy (his team) in our new house. I was not expecting it at all!

What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

Walking down the isle was certainly a highlight, you get this sense of calm and happiness. Also performing my father daughter dance. Dad and I had a lot of fun with it and nailed the routine.

How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown?

When I started looking I was so overwhelmed with choice. What I thought was my ideal dress did not suit me at all. The girls at Bendigo Bridal Collections were lovely from the get go and had me in and out of dresses in no time. Bron was amazing during the alteration process and in relation to Covid-19. She was always happy to change plans to adapt to the ever changing time frames.

What did you love about your wedding gown?

The back! The details, the buttons, everything!

Any words of wisdom for future brides?

Our wedding had to be adapted significantly due to Covid-19, but it put things into perspective. You don’t need to invite those relatives you feel you ‘have’ to invite and you don’t need the fanciest details to make it special. As long as you’re happy you’ll have a great day, don’t take it too seriously..
